Aprilia India has revealed the prices for its new middleweight adventure motorcycle, the Tuareg 660, on its official website. However, the company cautions that these prices might change at the official launch which is yet to be announced.
Aprilia Tuareg 660: Three Paint Schemes, Two Price Tags
The Tuareg 660 comes in three colour options: Atreides Black and Canyon Sand, and Evocative Dakar Podium. The first two colour options are priced at Rs. 18.85 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), while the Evocative Dakar Podium variant carries a slightly steeper price tag of Rs. 19.16 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Built for Off-Road Adventure
The Aprilia Tuareg 660 is designed for tackling tough terrain. It has a slim and tall profile, with twin triangular LED headlights and a large fuel tank that dominates the bike’s visual presence.
Power and Performance
The Tuareg 660 is powered by a 659cc parallel-twin engine that produces 80 horsepower and 79 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox and housed in a tubular frame. Suspension duties are handled by 43mm upside-down forks at the front and a progressive linkage monoshock at the rear. Braking performance comes from twin discs upfront and a single disc at the back, all equipped with dual-channel ABS for added safety. The wheels are spoked and wrapped in knobby tires, ideal for off-road riding.
Packed with Rider Aids
Aprilia has equipped the Tuareg 660 with a comprehensive suite of rider aids, including four pre-programmed ride modes with two additional customizable options. Riders can also adjust ABS and traction control settings, use cruise control, and control engine maps and engine braking. Information is displayed on a clear five-inch TFT instrument cluster.
Aprilia Tuareg 660: Competitive Landscape
When launched, the Tuareg 660 will compete with established players in the adventure motorcycle segment, such as the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE, BMW F850GS, and the Honda XL750 Transalp. However, it is likely to be the most expensive offering among its competitors.
