The “Oscars” of Indian Auto: 2025 ICOTY & IMOTY Winners Announced

The 20th anniversary of the Indian Car of the Year (ICOTY) and Indian Motorcycle of the Year (IMOTY) awards, often dubbed the “Oscars” of India’s automotive industry, has concluded with the announcement of its winners. This year’s competition saw a fierce battle amongst eight finalists, including electric vehicles and popular models from established and emerging brands.

The Mahindra Thar Roxx emerged victorious as the 2025 ICOTY, securing the title by a mere two points over the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, marking the closest margin in the award’s history. The Dzire claimed the first runner-up position, followed by the Maruti Suzuki Swift in third place.

In the motorcycle category, the Aprilia RS 457 reigned supreme as the 2025 IMOTY, while the Hero Xtreme 125R secured the second position.

Beyond the primary categories, the MG Windsor was recognized as the 2025 Green Car of the Year, highlighting its environmental credentials. Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz celebrated its triumph as the Premium Car of the Year with its E-Class LWB sedan.
