Skoda Kylaq

Skoda has introduced its latest offering, the Kylaq, a compact SUV priced at Rs 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for the Kylaq will open on December 2nd, with deliveries commencing on January 27th, 2025. The SUV will also be showcased at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Show in January.

The Kylaq is Skoda’s smallest SUV to date, aiming to significantly boost the brand’s sales in India. The name “Kylaq” was chosen through a nationwide contest, inspired by Mount Kailash and meaning “crystal” in Sanskrit. This aligns with Skoda’s SUV naming tradition and pays homage to Czech crystal heritage.

The Kylaq features Skoda’s latest “Modern Solid” design language, characterized by a sleek front grille and split LED headlights. While it shares similarities with the larger Kushaq, the Kylaq is more compact with a shorter wheelbase and overall length.

Inside, the Kylaq offers a modern and well-equipped cabin, featuring an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a sunroof, keyless entry, and ventilated front seats. Despite its compact size, the Kylaq provides comfortable rear seating and a spacious 446-liter boot.

The Kylaq is built on the MQB-A0 IN platform and is equipped with a range of safety features, including six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, and more. It aims to achieve a 5-star NCAP safety rating.

Powering the Kylaq is a 1.0-liter TSI turbo-petrol engine that delivers 115 horsepower and 178 Nm of torque. This engine enables the Kylaq to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 10.5 seconds, making it one of the fastest in its segment.
