Six-Wheeled Ferrari Testarossa Spotted in Texas: A Gas Monkey Garage Creation?

Six-Wheeled Ferrari Testarossa

A bizarre sight has emerged from the world of car modifications: a Ferrari Testarossa with a whopping six wheels and three axles. This heavily modified classic has set tongues wagging, and it appears Richard Rawlings, owner of Gas Monkey Garage, might be the mastermind behind this audacious project.

Spotted in Texas

The video, circulating on social media, shows the six-wheeled Testarossa being transported on a flatbed truck in Dallas, Texas. This sighting aligns with Rawlings’ location, as his Gas Monkey Garage is situated in the same city. Additionally, last year, Rawlings acquired five Testarossas used in the film “Infinite.”

Extensive Modifications

The brief glimpse reveals significant alterations to the once-iconic Italian sports car. The rear has been extensively reworked, with the original taillights replaced and a new pair mounted on the extended chassis. A custom exhaust system with dual tailpipes exiting through the rear grille complements the chrome-finished rear bumper and diffuser.

The Six-Wheeled Enigma

The most striking change lies in the addition of two extra wheels and a third axle. To achieve this feat, the shop likely cut the chassis behind the rear bulkhead, extended the frame with an additional axle, and then welded everything back together.

What Lies Beneath the Hood?

While the video offers no glimpse of the engine bay, speculation runs wild. With such extensive modifications already done, it’s highly unlikely the original flat-12 engine remains untouched. Performance enthusiasts are eager to learn if Gas Monkey Garage plans to upgrade the engine to match the car’s bold new look.

Ferrari’s Fury?

Ferrari is notoriously protective of its brand image and is known to frown upon drastic alterations to its classic cars. The six-wheeled Testarossa is certain to raise eyebrows, and we wouldn’t be surprised if a legal battle brews between the Italian automaker and Gas Monkey Garage.

One thing’s for sure: this six-wheeled Testarossa has become a hot topic in the automotive world. Whether it’s a work of art or automotive heresy, Rawlings’ latest project undoubtedly pushes the boundaries of car customization.
