GAC Group Launches GOVY, Unveils AirJet Flying Car

GAC GOVY AirJet Flying Car

GAC Group has officially entered the burgeoning low-altitude mobility market with the launch of its new flying car brand, GOVY. At a dedicated event, the company unveiled its inaugural model, the GOVY AirJet, a cutting-edge composite-wing flying car. This strategic move positions GAC as a key player in developing and delivering integrated aerial transportation systems.

GOVY: Redefining Urban Mobility

The GOVY brand will encompass the entire spectrum of the flying car ecosystem, from research and development to manufacturing, sales, and after-sales service. Leveraging its extensive automotive expertise and a strong foundation in advanced technologies, GAC aims to provide comprehensive solutions that revolutionize urban and intercity travel.

The GOVY AirJet: A Glimpse into the Future of Flight

The AirJet, a testament to GAC’s innovation, seamlessly blends the efficiency of fixed-wing aircraft with the vertical takeoff and landing capabilities of multi-rotor drones. Its lightweight structure, primarily composed of carbon fiber composites, ensures both durability and exceptional performance.

Powered by GAC’s proprietary high-efficiency electric drive system, the AirJet boasts a top speed of 250 km/h and a range exceeding 200 km. With a rapid 30-minute recharge time, the AirJet offers convenient and efficient travel options. Future iterations of the AirJet are expected to incorporate solid-state battery technology, further extending its range to 400 km.

The AirJet prioritizes passenger comfort with a luxurious cabin featuring a “1+1+X” seating configuration. A unique “PIXEL GALAXY” starlight roof enhances the travel experience by creating a mesmerizing celestial ambiance. Advanced safety features, including redundant power and control systems, real-time monitoring, and sophisticated obstacle detection systems, ensure a secure and reliable flight for passengers.

The Robo-AirTaxi Ecosystem: Seamless Ground and Air Travel

GAC envisions a comprehensive “Robo-AirTaxi” ecosystem that seamlessly integrates ground and aerial transportation. This integrated system will cater to diverse travel needs:

  • Short-distance urban commutes (within 20 km): Utilizing multi-rotor GOVY AirCar vehicles.
  • Mid-range intercity travel (up to 200 km): Leveraging the capabilities of the GOVY AirJet.

This integrated approach aims to create a “40-minute Greater Bay Area life circle,” significantly reducing travel times and costs while enhancing connectivity across the region.

A Vision for the Future

GAC aims to achieve airworthiness certification for its flying cars by 2025, establish robust production lines, and commence pre-order campaigns, accelerating the commercialization of low-altitude mobility. With plans for demonstration operations in 2-3 cities within the Greater Bay Area by 2027, GAC is poised to revolutionize urban transportation, ushering in an era of smarter, safer, and more sustainable travel solutions.
