Ather Energy has introduced a new extended battery warranty package called Eight70, addressing a major concern among potential electric two-wheeler buyers: battery longevity. Recognizing that the battery constitutes a significant portion of an electric vehicle’s cost, Ather Energy has partnered with Reliance General Insurance to offer this comprehensive warranty solution.
The Eight70 warranty is available for an additional Rs. 4,999 for Ather 450 series and Rizta owners who have opted for the Pro Pack. It extends the existing five-year battery warranty to eight years or 80,000 kilometers, whichever comes first.
Key benefits of the Eight70 warranty include:
- 70% Battery Health Assurance: Guarantees that the battery will retain at least 70% of its original health throughout the warranty period.
- Comprehensive Coverage: Covers manufacturing defects, failures, and deep discharge issues, even if the scooter is left idle for extended periods.
- No Upper Limit on Claims: Ensures peace of mind by removing any cap on claim amounts.
By offering this extended warranty, Ather Energy aims to alleviate concerns about battery degradation and replacement costs, further boosting consumer confidence in electric two-wheelers.
