Air India:Daily Delhi-Ayodhya Routes Ahead of Grand Ram Mandir Opening

In an unprecedented move, Air India Express, a subsidiary of the esteemed national carrier Air India, is set to redefine air travel accessibility. The airline is gearing up to launch daily direct flights between Delhi and Ayodhya, strategically aligning with the historic inauguration of the Ram Mandir on February 24, 2024.

Enhanced Connectivity to Tier 2 and Tier 3 Cities

Acknowledging the demand for improved air travel options, especially from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, Air India Express aims to bridge the gap. The initiative underscores a commitment to making air travel more accessible for passengers from burgeoning cities across India.

Maiden Flight Details

The inaugural flight, numbered IX 2789, is scheduled to take off from Delhi on December 30 at 1100 hours, making a graceful landing in Ayodhya by 1220 hours. This daily service, commencing from January 16, signifies a significant milestone in the airline’s dedication to providing seamless connectivity.

Ayodhya’s Upgraded Airport Infrastructure

The Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport in Ayodhya has undergone a transformation, with an extended runway capable of accommodating A-321/B-737 type aircraft. The strategic completion of this Rs 350 crore project by the Airports Authority of India, officially certified for operations on December 14 by the DGCA, is set to elevate regional connectivity and boost tourism in the culturally rich city of Ayodhya.

IndiGo’s Entry into Ayodhya

Not to be outdone, IndiGo, a major player in the Indian aviation sector, is also eyeing Ayodhya as its 86th domestic destination. With plans to commence services from Delhi on December 30, 2023, IndiGo adds to the excitement surrounding Ayodhya’s aviation landscape.

Countdown to Operationalization

Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has confirmed the operational readiness of the Ayodhya airport by the end of December. The much-anticipated inauguration is expected to be officiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marking a momentous addition to the country’s aviation infrastructure.
