Royal Enfield’s Electric Motorcycle Unveiled Tomorrow

Royal Enfield Electric Motorcycle

Royal Enfield is set to unveil its first electric motorcycle tomorrow, November 4th, at EICMA 2024. The company recently released a teaser video, offering a glimpse of the upcoming model’s design. The silhouette in the teaser closely resembles the motorcycle depicted in patent images released earlier this year.

The electric motorcycle, likely to be named the Royal Enfield Classic Electric or a revived Electra model, will feature a neo-retro design with classic elements like a round headlight, alloy wheels, round mirrors, and a single seat. The teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a signature feature of many Royal Enfield motorcycles, will be retained in this electric version.

One of the standout design features is the unique front fork, which resembles a modern interpretation of a classic girder fork. The motorcycle is expected to be equipped with a fully digital round instrument cluster that includes EV-specific displays and features like turn-by-turn navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, and music controls.

While specific details about the mechanical components, battery, and motor are still under wraps, patent images suggest a belt drive system transferring power to the rear wheel. It’s anticipated that the motorcycle will be powered by a 5 kWh battery pack paired with a PMSM motor.

With this electric motorcycle, Royal Enfield aims to tap into the growing electric vehicle market while staying true to its classic design language and heritage.
