Hyundai has expanded its Inster lineup with a new, more adventurous trim called the Cross. Despite being front-wheel drive, the Inster Cross targets outdoor enthusiasts with its rugged body kit, roof rack, and new wheel options.
From the outside, the Inster Cross stands out with its new side skirts, optional 17-inch alloy wheels, and a standard roof rack for carrying gear. The rugged aesthetic is further enhanced by the exclusive “Amazonas Green Matte” color option.
Inside, the Inster Cross features minimal changes, including lime-yellow accents on the grey cloth upholstery and dashboard inserts. Despite its small size, the interior offers practical features like a front bench seat, a sliding and reclining second row, and a cargo space ranging from 280 to 351 liters.
Like the regular Inster, the Cross trim is available with the Standard and Long Range fully electric powertrains. A single electric motor produces either 95 horsepower or 113 horsepower, while the battery capacity ranges from 42 kWh to 49 kWh. The Long Range version offers a WLTP range of up to 359 kilometers and supports 120 kWh DC charging.
Production of the Inster Cross is scheduled to begin in Korea by the end of the year, with pricing details to be announced closer to launch. While Hyundai hasn’t confirmed the availability of the Inster Cross in specific markets, it is expected to be offered in Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific region.
