Hyundai has unveiled its latest electric offering, the Ioniq 9, a spacious three-row SUV that promises a luxurious and sustainable driving experience. Built on the E-GMP platform, this electric behemoth shares its underpinnings with other popular electric vehicles from the Hyundai-Kia group.
Power and Range:
The Ioniq 9 comes in three configurations:
- Long Range RWD: A single rear motor delivers 214 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, with an estimated range of 385 miles.
- Long Range AWD: Adds a front motor for a combined output of 302 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque, and a slightly shorter range.
- Performance: Dual motors produce a total of 428 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque, enabling a 0-60 mph time of 5.2 seconds.
All variants are powered by a massive 110.3 kWh battery, supporting 350 kW fast charging for rapid replenishment.
Design and Interior:
The Ioniq 9’s sleek design, inspired by the SEVEN Concept, features Parametric Pixel lighting and a drag coefficient of just 0.259 Cd. Inside, the spacious cabin offers comfortable seating for up to seven passengers, with premium materials and advanced technology. Key features include:
- A large curved display housing the instrument cluster and infotainment system
- A futuristic steering wheel with integrated controls
- Advanced driver-assistance systems
- Eco-friendly materials throughout the interior
Global Launch:
The Hyundai Ioniq 9 will initially launch in South Korea and the United States in the first half of 2025. It will then expand to European and other global markets later in the year. Pricing and specific trim levels will be announced closer to the launch date.
