Genesis Unveils Redesigned 2026 GV70 and Electrified GV70 SUVs

Genesis introduced the updated 2026 GV70 and Electrified GV70 SUVs at an exclusive event in Los Angeles on November 19. These redesigned models will be dual-sourced from production facilities in Montgomery, Alabama, and Ulsan, Korea, with availability at North American retailers starting in the first half of 2025. Additionally, Genesis announced the opening of four new standalone retail facilities in the U.S., bringing the total to 60 in just three years.

Enhanced Design and Features

The 2026 GV70 and Electrified GV70 embody Genesis’ signature “Athletic Elegance” design philosophy. Their exteriors now feature refined details, including a dual-weave mesh grille and Genesis’ iconic two-line headlamps equipped with micro lens array (MLA) technology. The updated models also boast redesigned 19-inch and 21-inch wheels, bold skid plates, and streamlined air intakes for a sporty yet robust appearance.

Inside, both SUVs showcase Genesis’ Beauty of White Space design aesthetic, complemented by a state-of-the-art 27-inch OLED display that integrates the instrument cluster and infotainment system. A variety of interior color options, including new Nappa leather choices, and up to ten exterior paint colors offer customization for buyers.

Innovative Technologies and Convenience

The new models incorporate advanced convenience features. Enhanced voice recognition enables seamless control of functions like climate settings and windows, while over-the-air updates ensure vehicles remain equipped with the latest software. The GV70 and Electrified GV70 also include Genesis Digital Key, extended to the second row, and a new Terrain Mode for optimized driving on snow, mud, or sand.

Driver-assistance technologies have been upgraded, with features like improved Lane Following Assist and Remote Smart Parking Assist, now supporting diagonal parking. For an enriched cabin experience, the SUVs offer triple-zone automatic climate control, a premium Bang & Olufsen audio system, and customizable ambient lighting.

Performance and Powertrains

The 2026 GV70 is available with two gasoline engine options: a 2.5L turbocharged inline-4 producing 300 horsepower and a 3.5L V6 twin-turbo delivering 375 horsepower. Its ride quality is enhanced by Highway Body Motion Control and a Road Preview system, which adjusts suspension based on road conditions for maximum comfort.

The Electrified GV70 features a new North American Charging Standard (NACS) port, paired with a Combined Charging System (CCS) adapter, granting access to over 36,000 DC fast chargers. It is equipped with an upgraded 84kWh battery, extending range and convenience for electric vehicle users.

Retail Network Growth

To meet increasing demand for the GV70, Genesis continues to expand its retail network. Four new facilities have been launched in the U.S., including locations in Washington, Minnesota, Florida, and New York. This brings the total number of Genesis standalone retailers to 60 within three years.

In Canada, the GV70 has driven significant growth, with 10,673 units sold since its 2021 launch. Genesis now operates 30 distributors across the country, ensuring Canadian customers have access to its elevated ownership experience.
