Bengaluru, India: EKA Mobility, a leading player in the electric vehicle industry, has forged a strategic partnership with global furniture retailer IKEA to electrify its last-mile delivery fleet in India. Backed by major investors Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (Japan) and VDL Groep (Netherlands), this collaboration is set to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in the logistics sector.
EKA has successfully delivered 10 electric vans to IKEA, marking the initial phase of their partnership. The plan is to gradually expand the fleet across various regions in India, contributing to IKEA’s global commitment to reduce carbon emissions and transition to a fully electrified delivery network.
By replacing traditional diesel-powered vehicles with electric vans, IKEA aims to significantly reduce its carbon footprint and make its logistics operations more sustainable.
