Amid a global slowdown in concept car unveilings, Chinese automakers remain undeterred, with Chery leading the charge. Their latest concept, the Hunting Wild, hints at a potential new chapter for the Fulwin series. Blending the aesthetics of a wagon and a minivan, this aerodynamic marvel is built around next-generation solid-state battery technology, promising to reshape the EV landscape.
The Hunting Wild boasts impressive dimensions: a length of 5,053 mm, width of 2,010 mm, and height of 1,560 mm, paired with a limousine-like wheelbase of 3,100 mm. For context, it matches the length of the BMW i5 Touring while offering a broader and more striking stance.
Visually, the concept car features a distinct design. A black trim piece at the front integrates split LED headlights, an illuminated Chery logo, and sensors for advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). The bumper is adorned with active grille elements and sculpted cooling intakes. Aero-optimized wheels, measuring 21 inches at the front and 22 inches at the rear, enhance its futuristic appeal. Frameless windows, hidden door handles, and a prominent rear wing further accentuate its modern design. Notable Fulwin branding is present on the headlights, wheels, side gills, and full-width LED taillights.
While Chery has yet to reveal the interior, the available specifications hint at a tech-forward cabin. A 15.6-inch infotainment display, AI-powered voice controls, a premium 23-speaker sound system, and reclining rear seats with leg rests are just some of the standout features. Adding a touch of luxury, the panoramic roof includes a color-changing dome skylight.
The Hunting Wild’s electrified powertrain is centered on its 800V solid-state battery, a breakthrough in EV technology. Though details are inconsistent, this innovation promises significantly extended driving range and hints at production readiness by 2026. Complementing this advanced powertrain are a dual-chamber air suspension, Brembo brakes, four-wheel steering, and cutting-edge self-driving capabilities.
The concept is set to debut on November 15, 2024, at the Guangzhou Auto Show. Given the ongoing development of solid-state batteries, a production version is unlikely before 2026. When launched, it will compete with models like the Zeekr 001, Neta S Wagon, and Nio ET5T, signaling Chery’s ambitions in the premium EV market.
