Cadillac is set to introduce a high-performance variant of its Lyriq electric SUV, the Lyriq-V, for the 2026 model year. This will mark the first time a Cadillac EV has received a performance-oriented treatment.
While specific details about the Lyriq-V are still under wraps, a recent teaser and images provide some clues. The SUV boasts a more aggressive exterior design with revised bumpers, a color-coded body kit, and larger wheels with Brembo brake calipers. V badges adorn the front, rear, and lower doors, further emphasizing its performance-focused nature.
A video clip showcases a driver activating a performance driving mode via a V button on the steering wheel. Although the exact performance enhancements remain undisclosed, Cadillac promises exceptional performance, competitive range, and standard all-wheel drive.
Given that the regular all-wheel-drive Lyriq already delivers 500 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque, the Lyriq-V is expected to significantly surpass these figures. For reference, the Chevy Blazer EV, which shares the Ultium platform with the Lyriq, offers an SS trim with a staggering 595 horsepower.
The 2026 Lyriq-V will be available in both left- and right-hand drive configurations, with initial sales targeting North America, Australia, and New Zealand. Cadillac plans to expand availability to other markets later in 2025.
