BYD eMax 7 Electric MPV Launched in India

BYD has entered the Indian electric MPV market with the launch of the eMax 7. This facelifted version of the e6 comes at a starting price of ₹26.90 lakh (ex-showroom) and offers a compelling package for families and eco-conscious buyers.

Spacious Design and Modern Features:

The eMax 7 boasts a sizeable presence with its dimensions exceeding 4.7 meters in length and a generous wheelbase of 2.8 meters. It caters to both 6- and 7-seater configurations, providing ample space for passengers and cargo.

The exterior features a modern design with LED headlamps, stylish 17-inch alloy wheels, and a panoramic sunroof. Inside, the eMax 7 boasts a premium feel with leatherette seats, a digital driver display, and a large 12.8-inch infotainment touchscreen. This infotainment system offers smartphone connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with wireless charging for added convenience.

Safety First:

BYD prioritizes safety with the inclusion of six airbags, a 360-degree parking camera, and various driver assistance features. These include Electronic Stability Control (ESC), traction control, hill-hold assist, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) like adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assist.

Powertrain Options and Range:

The eMax 7 comes in two variants: Premium and Superior. The Premium variant offers a 55.4 kWh battery pack paired with a 161 horsepower motor, while the Superior gets a larger 71.8 kWh battery and a more powerful 201 horsepower motor. Notably, both variants deliver the same torque output of 310 Nm. This translates to a claimed range of 420 km for the Premium and an impressive 530 km for the Superior variant under the NEDC cycle.

A Unique Offering in the Market:

The BYD eMax 7 fills a current gap in the Indian market. With its attractive price tag (under Rs 30 lakh), spacious design, and impressive range, it offers a compelling alternative to traditional gasoline-powered MPVs like the Toyota Innova Hycross and the Maruti Suzuki Invicto. Additionally, its eco-friendly nature provides a significant benefit for environmentally conscious buyers.
