Ather Energy, a leading electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has announced a strategic partnership with Google to enhance the user experience for electric vehicle (EV) owners. This collaboration aims to provide real-time availability information on two-wheeler fast charging stations.
Through this partnership, EV users equipped with the Light Electric Combined Charging System (LECCS) will be able to easily locate Ather Grid fast chargers on Google Maps. The live status updates of these chargers will ensure that users can plan their journeys efficiently and avoid any charging-related inconveniences.
The LECCS standard, approved by the Bureau of Indian Standards, is a crucial step towards building a universal charging infrastructure in India. By adopting this standard, Ather Energy is contributing to the wider adoption of electric vehicles in the country.
As of March 30, 2024, Ather Energy’s Ather Grid network boasts an impressive 1,973 fast chargers accessible to the public. This growing network, combined with the convenience of real-time charging information, is expected to significantly boost the adoption of electric two-wheelers in India.
The partnership between Ather Energy and Google marks a significant milestone in the EV ecosystem. By providing users with accurate and timely information about charging stations, this collaboration will contribute to a more seamless and enjoyable electric vehicle experience.
