The 2025 Kia EV6, already celebrated as a versatile and dynamic electric crossover, is set to raise the bar further. With refreshed styling, upgraded technology, and improved performance, the updated EV6 was unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show, following earlier debuts in Korea and Europe. It features a longer range, sharper handling, and a bold design upgrade. The top-spec GT trim receives a notable performance boost and introduces simulated gear shifts, adding a touch of driving engagement.
Exterior Updates
The revamped exterior boasts a sleeker front fascia with slimmer LED headlights and refined air intakes. New wheel designs and subtle updates to the cladding enhance the side profile, while the rear showcases revised LED taillight graphics and an updated bumper. These design tweaks preserve the EV6’s sporty silhouette while giving it a modern edge. The facelift also extends the vehicle’s length by 0.6 inches (15 mm), thanks to a longer front overhang, maintaining Kia’s distinctive “Opposites United” design philosophy.
Interior Enhancements
Inside, the EV6 now features a curved digital cockpit with dual 12.3-inch displays, complemented by a redesigned steering wheel and an updated center console. Customization options include NBA-themed colors and logos via the Kia Connect Store. The cabin experience is further refined with additional soundproofing materials and improvements to the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) suite.
Improved Batteries and Extended Range
The 2025 EV6 upgrades its battery options, offering 63 kWh and 84 kWh packs, replacing the previous 58 kWh and 77.4 kWh variants. These larger batteries provide a maximum range of 319 miles (513 km) for the RWD model with the 84 kWh battery—an improvement of 9 miles (15 km) over the outgoing model. Towing capacity increases to 2,700 lbs (1,225 kg), enhancing the EV6’s practicality.
Charging remains fast, supported by the 800-volt DC architecture. Most trims now feature a relocated charging port on the left rear fender, compatible with the North American Charging Standard (NACS).

The EV6 is available with single (RWD) and dual (AWD) electric motor configurations. While the non-GT trims retain their existing drivetrain setups, the overall driving dynamics have been improved through enhanced steering response and a reinforced chassis.
Enhanced GT Trim Performance
The 2025 EV6 GT stands out with a significant power upgrade, drawing inspiration from the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N. Its dual-motor system delivers 601 hp (448 kW), with a temporary boost to 645 hp (481 kW) in GT mode. This represents a 65 hp and 23 lb-ft torque increase over the previous GT, cementing its position as a performance-focused EV. The GT also introduces a Virtual Gear Shift feature, replicating the sensation of gear changes through sound effects and torque modulation.
Production and Launch
The 2025 Kia EV6, excluding the GT trim, will be produced at Kia’s facility in Georgia alongside the larger EV9. Sales are expected to begin in the first half of 2025, with pricing details to be announced closer to launch.
