Mercedes-Benz is reportedly making a change to its recently launched 6th-generation E-Class LWB in India. The luxury sedan, known for its spacious interior and advanced technology, might soon be available in a more affordable configuration.
The company is considering removing the optional Superscreen setup, which features three displays on the dashboard. While this futuristic feature adds to the car’s appeal, it also contributes to its higher price tag. By offering a more conventional dual-screen setup, Mercedes-Benz aims to make the E-Class LWB more accessible to a wider range of buyers.
It’s speculated that the base E200 variant of the E-Class LWB could see a price reduction of around Rs 5.25 lakh, bringing its starting price down to approximately Rs 73.25 lakh (ex-showroom). This would position it closer to its direct competitor, the BMW 5 Series LWB.
While the Superscreen might be dropped from the base variant, higher-end models like the E450 MATIC are expected to retain this feature.
It’s important to note that these are just speculations based on recent reports. Official confirmation from Mercedes-Benz is still awaited.
