Maruti Suzuki has enhanced the safety features of its Alto K10 and S-Presso hatchbacks by introducing Electronic Stability Program (ESP) as a standard equipment. This update ensures that these models now offer a higher level of stability and control on the road.
ESP combines various safety systems such as Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), stability control, and traction control to prevent skidding and maintain vehicle stability. By using sensors to monitor the vehicle’s trajectory, ESP intervenes if it detects potential instability or loss of traction, helping to avoid accidents.
Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer of Marketing & Sales at Maruti Suzuki India Limited, emphasized the company’s commitment to making advanced safety features accessible to a wider range of customers. He stated that the addition of ESP as a standard feature significantly enhances the value proposition of their vehicles and provides improved driving confidence for all buyers.
Despite this update, the Maruti Eeco van remains the only model in the company’s lineup without ESP. The Alto K10 and S-Presso are now priced between Rs 3.99 lakh and Rs 5.96 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 4.26 lakh and Rs 6.11 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. Both models are powered by the same 1.0-liter three-cylinder K10 petrol engine and offer both manual and automatic transmission options, including factory-fitted CNG variants.
Maruti Suzuki has been gradually upgrading its vehicle range with ESP since April 2023. This latest update further strengthens the safety features of the Alto K10 and S-Presso, making them more appealing to customers who prioritize safety and stability in their vehicles.
