Maruti Suzuki has achieved a significant milestone by exporting its 3 millionth vehicle. The landmark vehicle was part of a recent shipment from Pipavav port in Gujarat, comprising a variety of models including the Celerio, Fronx, S-Presso, Jimny, Baleno, Ciaz, and Dzire.
Maruti Suzuki’s export journey began in 1986, with the first shipment of 500 cars to Hungary in 1987. The company reached its first million-unit export milestone in FY 2012-13 and the second million in FY 2020-21. The most recent million-unit milestone was achieved in just under four years, marking the fastest million-unit increase for the brand.

Hisashi Takeuchi, MD and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, expressed gratitude for the Government of India’s supportive policies and trade agreements, which have contributed to the company’s export growth. He emphasized that the 3 million export milestone reflects India’s automotive manufacturing excellence and highlights the global appeal of the ‘Brand India’ label.
