Mahindra Electric SUVs

Mahindra Automotive, the country’s largest SUV maker, recently announced plans to launch 16 new SUVs by 2030. This impressive line-up of upcoming SUVs will include nine new internal combustion engine (ICE) models. There will also be seven Born Electric Vehicles (BEVs). So far we know some of these upcoming models and most of their details. Meanwhile, some remain secret and little is known about them. So without further ado, here are all the details we know.

XUV3XO:

The first of these SUVs is the recently launched XUV 3XO. As we already knew, this SUV was supposed to be the first of three mid-cycle updates. Mahindra has taken the country by storm with the new XUV 3XO. The brand said it received more than 50,000 reservations in just one hour.

Deliveries begin May 26. This time, the company launched this subcompact SUV with a heavily redesigned exterior and many interior features like a panoramic sunroof, ADAS level 2, and many more. Driving options are maintained.

XUV7XO:

Probably the updated version of the XUV700. Mahindra is also gearing up to launch the XUV 7XO. This new name was recently registered. Since the company recently renamed the XUV 300 to XUV 3XO, it will most likely also rename the XUV 700 to XUV 7XO.

The exact list of updates for the new Mahindra XUV 7XO has not been revealed. However, this will most likely result in design changes and improved technology. Considering the success of the XUV700 since its launch in August 2021, this new facelift aims to keep the model fresh and attractive to consumers.

Scorpion:

Mahindra has achieved great success with the Scorpio-N. However, since its launch in June 2022, a mid-cycle update is also planned. The updated Scorpio-N will reportedly offer improved features. This means that the SUV will most likely receive feature updates like ADAS Level 2 and others. There could also be a slightly revised exterior design.

Thar Armada (Thar 5 doors):

One of the most anticipated models that Mahindra will launch with an internal combustion engine will be the 5-door Thar. Most likely it will be called Thar Armada. The company registered this name as a trademark.

As we all know, this all-new lifestyle off-road SUV will share its underpinnings and powertrains with the Scorpio-N and the 3-door Thar. The Thar Armada gets additional doors in the middle and a new bench. You’ll also get a ton of new features, including an all-metal roof.

You’ll also get a single-panel power moonroof, roof-mounted speakers, a new larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and much more. Most likely it will also be equipped with ADAS. Other updates include a new grille, 19-inch alloy wheels and some minor changes to the exterior design compared to the three-door Thar.

Scorpion Pickup:

Mahindra is also gearing up to launch the new Scorpio pickup truck. The extremely robust Scorpio van concept was first shown in concept form in South Africa last year. This model is based on the Scorpio-N platform and offers similar design features. But in general its design will be much more utilitarian.

New Bolero SUV:

Mahindra is working hard on the development of the new generation Bolero. This extremely popular SUV from the brand, which always enjoys high sales, receives a completely new platform. The company is developing the new Bolero based on the new U171 platform.

It will reportedly be able to retain its legendary durability. However, it will now have a modern design and features. This new Bolero is intended to please fans of the traditional Bolero. Additionally, the company wants to attract more new buyers looking for an SUV that is both robust and modern.

Derived from the seven-seater Bolero:

Along with the new Bolero, Mahindra will introduce a seven-seater variant. This new model will also be based on the same U171 platform currently in development. This derivative will offer additional reception capacity. Apart from these details, not much is known about this SUV.

XUV 1XO and XUV 5XO:

According to recent reports, Mahindra has also registered the names XUV 1XO and XUV 5XO. Currently, concrete details about these models are still scarce. However, what we can guess is that the XUV 1XO could be a micro SUV that will compete with the Tata Punch and the Hyundai Exter.

Meanwhile, the XUV 5XO could be a compact SUV. And it could compete in the highly competitive midsize SUV segment. It will most likely compete with rivals like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and others.

Seven new electric vehicles (BEV):

We all know that Mahindra is betting big on the future of electric mobility. For this, it has already presented its INGLO platform. Based on this new electric vehicle architecture, the company is preparing to launch many new electric SUVs.

Mahindra XUV.e8:

The first of the brand’s new electric SUVs will be the Mahindra XUV.e8. Based on the already popular XUV 700, the new electrified version of this SUV will have a new exterior design. There will also be some updates to the interior.

According to some reports, it could be equipped with four-wheel drive. It could also be equipped with battery options of up to 80 kWh. Power could range from 230 HP to more than 350 HP.

Mahindra XUV.e9 Coupe:

The XUV.e9 Coupé follows shortly after. This particular SUV will also be based on the XUV 700 and the XUV.e8. However, its unique selling point will be its unique, coupe-like rear end. This sporty and electric aesthetic will set it apart.

Mahindra BE.05 SUV:

Another highly anticipated electric SUV from the brand is the BE.05. This unique SUV will feature an extremely futuristic design and will also have a very modern interior.

The BE.05 is also supported by Mahindra’s new INGLO EV skateboard platform. Battery sizes from 60 to 80 kWh could be offered.

Thar.E:

Mahindra Automotive previewed the Thar.E concept. last year. The electric version of the already popular Thar will feature the iconic ruggedness of the Thar with an electric propulsion system. It will reportedly be equipped with a 60 kWh battery from Chinese automaker BYD.

Additional BEVs:

We do not have complete information on the remaining three BEVs. What we do know is that they will be based on the INGLO platform. These models will have battery sizes ranging from 60 to 80 kWh.

You can also quickly recharge up to 175 kW. And they will supposedly offer ranges of between 435 km and 450 km in the WLTP cycle. The brand will offer rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options.
