Mahindra Thar Roxx Unveiling Tomorrow: Key Features and Design Details Revealed

Mahindra Thar Roxx

The Mahindra Thar Roxx is gearing up for its official launch on August 15. However, before the price is revealed, the carmaker is set to unveil the production-spec version tomorrow. So far, we’ve only glimpsed the Thar Roxx in teaser images and videos, offering a sneak peek at some of its features. Here’s what we know about this upcoming Mahindra SUV:

Design Highlights Unveiled

From the teaser images and videos, the Thar Roxx stands out with its distinct 6-slat grille, differing from the 7-slat design seen on the Thar 3-door. Other exterior features include LED headlights with C-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs), dual-tone alloy wheels, and C-shaped elements in the LED tail lights.

Inside, the Thar Roxx will feature a dual-tone color scheme, complemented by white leatherette seats and upholstery. The dashboard will have black leatherette padding, accentuated by contrasting copper stitching.

Feature Set

Mahindra has confirmed several premium features for the Thar Roxx, including ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, and dual digital displays, likely 10.25-inch units. Additional amenities may include push-button start/stop and wireless phone charging.

In terms of safety, the Thar Roxx is expected to offer six airbags (likely as standard), electronic stability control (ESC), a 360-degree camera, and possibly some advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

Powertrain Options

While Mahindra has not yet confirmed the engine and transmission options, the Thar Roxx is expected to be available with both petrol and diesel engines. It may share the same 2-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines as the Thar 3-door, possibly with revised outputs. Buyers will likely have the choice between a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission, along with both rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and four-wheel-drive (4WD) configurations.

Expected Price and Rivals

The Mahindra Thar Roxx is anticipated to have a starting price of Rs 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete directly with the Force Gurkha 5-door and serve as a larger alternative to the Maruti Jimny.
