Mahindra’s 5-door Thar Roxx has garnered immense popularity in India, receiving an overwhelming 176,218 bookings within the first hour of its launch. This impressive response reflects the strong demand for the off-road SUV, which has been available for offline bookings at dealerships across the country for some time.
The Thar Roxx offers a range of features, including a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a Harman Kardon sound system, a wireless phone charger, keyless entry, cruise control, and ventilated front seats. Safety features include six airbags, ABS with EBD, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, hill-descent control, front and rear parking sensors, and Level 2 ADAS features.
The Thar Roxx is available with two engine options: a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engine and a 2.2-liter diesel engine. Both engines offer multiple power and torque outputs depending on the transmission (manual or automatic) and drivetrain (rear-wheel or four-wheel drive).
Priced between Rs 12.99 lakh and Rs 22.49 lakh (ex-showroom), the Thar Roxx competes directly with the Force Gurkha 5-door and offers a larger alternative to the Maruti Suzuki Jimny. The overwhelming response to the Thar Roxx highlights its strong appeal in the Indian market.
