The anticipation for the Mahindra Thar Roxx 5-door has been building up significantly in India. The company is gearing up to open official bookings on October 3rd, and early reports suggest a substantial waiting period.

Even before the official booking window opens, the Thar Roxx 5-door has reportedly garnered significant interest. Major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru are facing waiting periods of around two months, while in Chennai, Jaipur, and Ahmedabad, the wait time could extend to three months.

Booking Process and Delivery

Those keen on purchasing the Thar Roxx can reserve their units by visiting authorized dealerships across the country or through the official Mahindra website. A fully refundable token amount of Rs 21,000 is required to secure a booking. The first deliveries are expected to commence on October 12th.

Design and Features

While the Thar Roxx 5-door maintains the iconic design language of its three-door sibling, the increased size has resulted in a more spacious interior. The cabin offers ample legroom and headroom, making it more practical for daily commuting.

The exterior features a signature grille, LED headlights, and round-shaped DRLs. The placement of LED indicators on the bonnet adds a unique aesthetic touch. Dark-finished cladding on the sides enhances its rugged appearance.

Powertrain Options

Under the hood, the Thar Roxx is available with two engine options: a 2-liter turbo petrol and a 2.2-liter diesel. The petrol engine delivers 159 bhp in manual transmission and 174 bhp in automatic. The diesel engine generates 149 bhp in manual and 172 bhp in automatic.

Pricing and Competition

The Thar Roxx 5-door is expected to be priced competitively, with a starting price of Rs 12.99 lakh. The top-spec 4×4 variant could go up to Rs 22.49 lakh (all ex-showroom). It will directly compete with the Force Gurkha 5-door in the off-road SUV segment.
