Kia India has reached a significant milestone by exporting 100,000 Completely Knocked Down (CKD) vehicles from India. The company began its export operations from its Anantapur plant in June 2020, and the facility now accounts for 50% of Kia’s global CKD exports.
Kia India plans to export over 38,000 CKD units to various regions, including Uzbekistan, Ecuador, and Vietnam, in 2024. The exported models primarily consist of the Seltos, Sonet, and Carens. The automaker aims to double its export volume by 2030 by expanding its CKD footprint to the Middle East and Africa.
Joonsu Cho, Chief Sales Officer of Kia India, expressed pride in India’s role as a key market and export hub for Kia Corporation. He highlighted the strong performance of Kia’s models in international markets and acknowledged the government’s supportive policies in strengthening India’s position in the global automotive value chain.
