Hyundai is set to unveil the refreshed Alcazar on September 9th, and ahead of its launch, the company has released the first official image of the SUV. Bookings for the new Alcazar have commenced today, with an initial booking amount of Rs 25,000. Positioned to compete against popular models like the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, and MG Hector Plus, the Alcazar facelift promises several updates and enhancements.
One of the highlights of the 2024 Alcazar facelift includes design cues borrowed from the latest Creta, along with distinctive styling elements unique to the Alcazar. Notable exterior changes feature new H-shaped LED DRLs, reminiscent of the Exter model but adapted for the Alcazar’s larger frame. A redesigned grille with horizontal slats replaces the studded design of the current model, while refreshed alloy wheels and updated body cladding contribute to its enhanced look.
Inside, the Alcazar facelift mirrors the dashboard layout of the 2024 Creta, incorporating dual 10.25-inch screens for the infotainment system and instrument cluster. Potential additions for top variants may include dual-zone automatic climate control, complementing existing premium features like a voice-controlled panoramic sunroof, front ventilated seats, and a dual-camera dash cam setup.
Mr. Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director and Chief Operating Officer at Hyundai Motor India Limited, expressed enthusiasm about the new launch, highlighting the Alcazar’s popularity among Indian customers for its spacious interiors, comfort features, and reliable performance. He emphasized the SUV’s advanced technology, safety enhancements, and luxurious interior updates aimed at setting new benchmarks in its segment.
Safety remains a priority with the inclusion of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), a feature already familiar in competitors like the Safari, XUV700, and Hector. The Alcazar facelift will adopt 19 Level 2 ADAS features similar to those seen in the new Creta, alongside standard safety measures such as six airbags, ESC, VSM, and a surround-view monitor.
Powertrain options for the Alcazar facelift will carry over from its predecessor, offering a choice between a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine producing 160 PS and 253 Nm torque, paired with 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT transmissions, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine generating 116 PS and 250 Nm torque, available with either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. The SUV will retain its drive modes (Eco, Comfort, and Sport) and Traction Control modes (Snow, Sand, and Mud) for varied driving conditions.
With these updates, Hyundai aims to reinforce the Alcazar’s position as a premium SUV choice in India, combining style, performance, and advanced features tailored to meet diverse customer preferences in the competitive SUV market.
