Hyundai India is marking the first anniversary of its well-received Exter SUV with the launch of the all-new Exter Knight Edition. Since its debut in July 2023, the Exter has achieved impressive sales of 93,000 units, solidifying its position in the competitive Indian SUV market. The Exter Knight Edition follows the successful launch of the Knight Editions for Creta and Venue, offering a sportier and more aggressive look for younger buyers.
Standing Out from the Crowd
The Exter Knight Edition boasts a head-turning matte black exterior paint scheme, a significant departure from the standard options of Ranger Khaki, Cosmic Blue, Starry Night, and others. This unique colorway sets the Knight Edition apart and creates a powerful on-road presence.
Blacked-Out Appeal
The Exter Knight Edition embraces an all-black aesthetic for a bold and sophisticated look. Black side sill garnish, front and rear skid plates, and alloy wheels complement the dark exterior. Even the Hyundai logo and EXTER emblem receive the black treatment. Red accents strategically placed on the front bumper, rear tailgate, and brake calipers add a touch of contrast and sporty flair. A Knight Edition emblem on the rear further emphasizes its exclusivity.
Black on Black Interior
The Exter Knight Edition’s interiors mirror the blacked-out theme of the exterior. Black upholstery with red stitching and piping creates a sporty and premium feel. Door handles and steering wheel are finished in black satin, while black metal scuff plates, black floor mats with red stitching, and red footwell lighting complete the cohesive dark interior design.
Unchanged Performance
The Exter Knight Edition retains the proven 1.2-liter Kappa petrol engine that delivers 81 horsepower and 113 Nm torque. This engine pairs with either a 5-speed manual transmission (MT) or a Smart Auto AMT gearbox.
Knight Edition Pricing
The Exter Knight Edition starts at ₹8,30,200 for the SX MT variant, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious buyers seeking a stylish SUV. Prices range up to ₹10,14,900 for the top-of-the-line SX (O) Connect (Dual Tone) with AMT.
A Bold New Chapter for Exter
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Tarun Garg, COO of Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL), stated their excitement to introduce the Exter Knight Edition, catering to the aspirations of young Indian buyers. The Knight Edition’s success reflects the growing popularity of black among SUV customers. Hyundai is confident that the Exter Knight Edition, with its youthful design and powerful presence, will entice customers to explore new possibilities and experience the thrill of Hyundai SUV ownership.
