Hyundai Alcazar Facelift Launch on September 9: What to Expect

Hyundai is preparing to introduce the facelifted version of its Alcazar SUV in India on September 9, 2024. The Alcazar, a three-row SUV, initially debuted in the Indian market in June 2021 and is now due for a mid-life refresh. Following the release of the Adventure edition for both the Creta and Alcazar in August 2023, this update brings new enhancements.

The facelifted Alcazar has been spotted testing several times, giving us a glimpse of potential updates. Based on these sightings, the SUV is expected to feature significant styling revisions, mirroring some elements from the upcoming Creta facelift. Likely changes include revamped daytime running lights (DRLs), updated LED headlamps, a redesigned front grille, and refreshed alloy wheels. At the rear, the SUV could sport new taillights and a revised bumper. Despite sharing similarities with the Creta, the Alcazar will retain its unique identity and remain a larger, more spacious option.

Inside, the Alcazar facelift is expected to offer a reimagined cabin with a host of modern features. Key highlights include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, and a panoramic sunroof. The updated model is also likely to incorporate Hyundai’s Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), adding a layer of safety and convenience. Additionally, the Alcazar will continue to offer both 6- and 7-seater configurations to suit different customer preferences.

Under the hood, the new Alcazar is expected to carry forward the current engine lineup. This includes a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine producing 158 bhp and 253 Nm of torque, as well as a 1.5-liter diesel engine delivering 114 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. Both engines will be available with manual and automatic transmission options.

With the 2024 Alcazar’s launch, Hyundai aims to strengthen its position in the competitive SUV segment, going head-to-head with rivals like the Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari, and MG Hector Plus. The facelifted model is anticipated to come with a slight price increase over the current version, which is priced between ₹16.78 lakh and ₹21.28 lakh (ex-showroom).
