A legendary era has come to an end. Donkervoort, the Dutch sports car manufacturer, is bidding adieu to the iconic Audi 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine that has powered its vehicles for over a decade. To commemorate this significant moment, the company has introduced the F22 Final Five, a limited-edition series of five ultra-lightweight, high-performance sports cars.
The F22 Final Five is a masterpiece of engineering and design. It features an exposed carbon fiber body, carbon wheels, and ceramic brakes, all contributing to a weight reduction of 34 kilograms compared to the standard F22. Additionally, a titanium exhaust system further shaves off weight and enhances the vehicle’s exhilarating sound.
Under the hood, the 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine delivers a thrilling 500 horsepower, propelling the F22 Final Five from 0 to 62 mph in less than three seconds and onto a top speed of 180 mph. The engine’s distinctive five-cylinder growl, turbocharger whistle, and high-revving character provide an unforgettable auditory experience.
While the F22 Final Five marks the end of an era, Donkervoort assures enthusiasts that a new engine is on the horizon. This next-generation powerplant promises to deliver similar levels of performance and excitement, ensuring that the brand’s legacy of building lightweight, high-performance sports cars continues.
