Kia, known in India for its crossover SUVs, MPVs, and minivans, has introduced the updated 2025 K8 sedan, marking a significant shift in design language influenced by the flagship EV9. The K8, which succeeded the K7 (formerly Cadenza), positions itself as a strong competitor to luxury executive sedans like the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5 Series. The 2025 facelift brings a striking new front fascia, complete with vertically aligned headlights and a sleek LED DRL signature. Although most design changes are concentrated at the front, the sedan also features a revised rear, sophisticated interiors, and enhanced driving dynamics.
2025 Kia K8 Sedan: A Fresh Look and Enhanced Features
The newly launched 2025 Kia K8 is essentially an evolution of the K7 sedan, which replaced the Cadenza. This facelifted model takes cues from the brand’s EV9, giving the K8 a refreshed and aggressive front-end design. The sedan is positioned as a compelling alternative to luxury sedans like the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, BMW 5 Series, Volvo S90, and Audi A6.
The 2025 K8’s exterior design now features vertically arranged headlights connected by a sleek LED DRL, a refined Tiger Nose grille, and a wraparound tail light design that provides a boomerang effect when viewed from the side. The sloping roofline, new dual-tone alloy wheels with a quad slotted design, and the repositioned Kia logo on the bonnet contribute to its sophisticated and sporty appearance. The sedan has also grown slightly in size, now measuring 5,050mm in length, 1,880mm in width, and 1,480mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,895mm. Both front and rear overhangs have been extended, adding to its refined look.
Interior and Powertrain Options
Inside, the 2025 Kia K8 offers a refreshed cabin with new AC controls, more soft-touch materials, ambient lighting, and illuminated seat buckles at the rear. The minimalist cabin layout exudes luxury, enhanced by premium material choices and color schemes. The K8 is available with a range of powertrains, including a 2.5L 4-cylinder petrol engine producing 200 PS, a 3.5L V6 petrol engine delivering 300 PS, and a hybrid powertrain featuring a 1.6L engine with a combined output of 240 PS. Depending on the variant, the K8 also offers an AWD system. In South Korea, prices for the 2025 Kia K8 range from KRW 37,360,000 (approximately Rs 23 lakh) to KRW 57,010,000 (around Rs 35 lakh).
