Yamaha has introduced a refreshed version of its popular supersport, the YZF-R15, for the Indonesian market. The 2025 model receives minor updates in the form of new features and a fresh color option.
The most notable addition to the YZF-R15 is smartphone connectivity, a feature already available on the Indian-spec model. Riders can now connect their smartphones to the bike’s instrument cluster for a range of functions including call notifications, message alerts, and ride tracking. The digital instrument cluster continues to offer comprehensive information, including onboard diagnostics and maintenance reminders.
To enhance the bike’s visual appeal, Yamaha has introduced a new full black color scheme. This joins the existing options of blue, grey/black, and grey/silver.
Mechanically, the YZF-R15 remains unchanged. It continues to be powered by a 155cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 18.1bhp and 14.2Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox equipped with a slipper clutch and a quickshifter.
The motorcycle’s chassis and suspension setup remain identical, featuring a Deltabox frame, USD forks, and a monoshock. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS as standard.
While these updates are specific to the Indonesian market, it’s worth noting that the Yamaha YZF-R15 is already a feature-rich offering in its class. With a combination of sharp styling, advanced technology, and impressive performance, the R15 has cemented its position as a popular choice among young riders.
In India, the Yamaha YZF-R15 is priced between Rs. 1.83 lakh and Rs. 1.98 lakh (ex-showroom), and it competes directly with the KTM RC 200.
