Suzuki Malaysia has officially launched the 2024 version of its popular adventure tourer, the V-Strom SX. Priced at RM 17,800 (approximately Rs. 3.46 lakh in Indian currency), the V-Strom SX competes against the Kawasaki Versys-X 250 and Honda CRF250 Rally in the Malaysian market.
Specifications and Features:
The V-Strom SX in Malaysia is identical to the Indian model, powered by a 249cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine that produces 26.1 bhp and 22.2 Nm of torque. A six-speed gearbox handles power delivery, and while it doesn’t feature a slipper clutch, it offers a comfortable riding experience. The bike boasts a 19-17-inch alloy wheel combination, telescopic fork at the front, and a monoshock at the rear for a balanced ride. Dual-channel ABS is standard, ensuring safety and control.
Design and Features:
Inspired by Suzuki’s larger adventure bikes, the V-Strom SX exudes a rugged and capable appearance. The round headlamp, tall windscreen, and sharp fairing contribute to its adventurous aura. The rear features a long and stubby tail, adding to its distinctive character. The bike is equipped with LED lights, a fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, and features like turn-by-turn navigation and call/message notifications. Additional conveniences include a rear luggage rack and a USB charging port.
Competition in India:
In India, the V-Strom SX competes primarily with the Yezdi Adventure, priced between Rs. 2.10 and 2.20 lakh. Both motorcycles offer similar features and performance, making the choice often come down to personal preference and brand loyalty.
The Suzuki V-Strom SX 2024 continues to be a compelling option for those seeking an adventure-oriented motorcycle that blends performance, comfort, and practicality. With its combination of power, features, and rugged design, the V-Strom SX is well-positioned to attract riders looking for a versatile and capable companion for their adventures.
