Royal Enfield is set to invigorate its classic motorcycle lineup with a flurry of new models within the next year. This strategic move targets the booming mid-size motorcycle segment and caters to the growing demand for retro-styled machines. Here’s a breakdown of the exciting new additions expected to join the Royal Enfield family:
1. Updated Royal Enfield Classic 350 (Expected Launch: Mid-2024)
The well-received Royal Enfield Classic 350, launched in late 2021, is poised for a mid-life update. This update is expected to focus on refreshing the roadster’s visual appeal with new color schemes, graphics, and potentially, additional features. The proven 349cc, air-and-oil-cooled engine churning out 20hp and 27Nm will likely remain unchanged, paired with the existing five-speed transmission.
2. Royal Enfield Classic Bobber (Expected Launch: Late 2024)
Royal Enfield is ready to take on the Jawa and Yezdi bobbers in the 300-350cc segment with a single-seat variant of the Classic 350. This motorcycle is anticipated to boast a distinctive bobber style with a raised handlebar, whitewall tires, and ergonomics tailored for a solo riding experience. While an official name is yet to be revealed, rumors suggest it could be christened the Shotgun 350.
3. Royal Enfield Classic 650 (Expected Launch: Early 2025)
Expected to arrive in early 2025, the Royal Enfield Classic 650 will draw inspiration from its smaller sibling, the Classic 350. The design will likely feature a classic circular LED headlamp with chrome casing, pilot lamps, halogen turn signals, a single-piece seat, spoked wheels, and an upright handlebar for a comfortable touring posture. Powering this machine will be the familiar 648cc, parallel-twin engine with a 270-degree firing order, churning out 47 PS and 52 Nm of torque. This engine will be mated to a six-speed gearbox. The Classic 650 is also expected to share the subframe and pillion seat design with the SG650.
This influx of new classic motorcycles from Royal Enfield caters to a diverse range of riders. The updated Classic 350 offers a familiar yet refreshed experience, while the Classic Bobber caters to enthusiasts seeking a more minimalist and aggressive bobber style. Finally, the Classic 650 provides a powerful and comfortable option for touring enthusiasts who appreciate classic aesthetics.
