Kawasaki Versys 1100: More Power, More Comfort, More Adventure

Kawasaki Versys 1100

Kawasaki has officially launched the Versys 1100 in Europe, marking a significant upgrade to its popular touring motorcycle lineup. As the successor to the Versys 1000, this new model boasts a range of enhancements to make it an even more compelling choice for long-distance riders.

One of the most notable changes is the increase in engine displacement from 1,043cc to 1,099cc. While the bore remains the same, a longer stroke, higher compression ratio, and other internal modifications have resulted in a substantial power boost. The Versys 1100 now delivers 133 horsepower and 112.5 Nm of torque, compared to its predecessor’s 118 horsepower and 101.5 Nm.

Kawasaki has maintained the same three-variant structure for the Versys 1100: Base, S, and SE. The top-tier SE model continues to feature Showa electronic semi-active suspension for advanced comfort and control. The other two variants receive manual suspension with fewer adjustment options. The only other hardware update is a larger 260mm rear disc brake for improved stopping power.

In terms of features, the Versys 1100 introduces a USB Type-C charging port for convenient device charging on the go. While this is a welcome addition, it’s worth noting that there aren’t any major feature upgrades beyond this.

Considering the Versys 1000 is no longer available in India, the 1100 is expected to make its debut in the Indian market soon. Given the substantial improvements and the premium nature of this model, it’s likely to be priced higher than its predecessor, which was previously listed at Rs. 13.91 lakh (ex-showroom).

Overall, the Kawasaki Versys 1100 offers a refined and capable touring experience. With its increased power, improved suspension options, and modern features, it’s well-positioned to appeal to riders seeking a comfortable and versatile adventure motorcycle.
