Hero MotoCorp has pulled the wraps off the updated Xtreme 160R 4V in India, priced at Rs. 1,38,500 (ex-showroom). This minor refresh for the popular streetfighter comes just a year after a significant overhaul that introduced a 4-valve engine, inverted forks, and fresh styling. The 2024 model builds upon this foundation with added features and a new color option.
While the motorcycle’s core remains unchanged, Hero has focused on enhancing the package. The most noticeable addition is the inclusion of dual-channel ABS for improved safety. A single-piece seat replaces the previous split unit, promising better comfort for both rider and pillion. To further boost rider engagement, Hero has equipped the Xtreme 160R 4V with a drag race timer – a unique feature in this segment.
The styling updates are subtle, with a new dual-tone black and bronze color scheme and revised graphics. The motorcycle continues to feature LED lighting, a digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, and a muscular design language that appeals to young buyers.
Mechanically, there are no changes. The heart of the Xtreme 160R 4V remains a 163.2 cc, air-cooled engine producing 16.9 PS and 14.6 Nm of torque. Suspension duties are handled by inverted front forks and a monoshock rear, while braking is via disc brakes at both ends.
The 2024 Hero Xtreme 160R 4V competes directly with the likes of the Bajaj Pulsar N160, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, and Suzuki Gixxer. While the price increase of Rs. 2,000 over the previous top-end variant might raise eyebrows, the added safety features and convenience offered by the new model could justify the premium for many buyers.
