Ducati India has launched the DesertX Rally, a rugged evolution of their popular DesertX adventure bike. Priced at ₹23,70,800 ex-showroom, this motorcycle caters to serious off-road enthusiasts seeking peak performance and conquering challenging terrains.
Built for the Toughest Trails
The DesertX Rally boasts several significant upgrades over the standard model. Its most striking feature is the industry-first 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel configuration, rigorously tested on demanding tracks like the Erzberg Rodeo 2023. This setup enhances handling and control in rough terrain.
Rally-Ready Design and Performance
The DesertX Rally sports a distinctive livery and comes equipped with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires, optimized for off-road adventures. Riders can opt for Scorpion Trail II tires for a more balanced street-and-trail experience. The motorcycle’s rugged design is further accentuated by a beak-like front mudguard, reflecting its capability to tackle any obstacle.
Enhanced Suspension and Lightweight Construction
The Kayaba suspension boasts increased travel (20mm more on both front and rear wheels) for superior shock absorption. Central-spoked wheels further contribute to this, offering greater resilience compared to traditional alloy wheels. Despite these enhancements, the Rally model weighs just 1 kg more than the standard DesertX, thanks to weight-saving measures like a forged carbon sump guard, precision-machined gear pedals, and a strengthened rear brake lever.
Powerhouse Engine and Advanced Features
The DesertX Rally houses the same powerful 937 cc Ducati Testastretta 11° twin-cylinder engine, delivering 108 bhp and 92 Nm of torque. This engine, coupled with six riding modes (Sport, Touring, Urban, Wet, Enduro, and Rally), ensures optimal performance in diverse conditions.
Riders can leverage a range of advanced features, including Cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control (DTC), and Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC), for enhanced safety and control. Additionally, a 5-inch color TFT screen and the Ducati Multimedia System provide seamless smartphone connectivity for music, calls, and optional turn-by-turn navigation.
