Benelli has unveiled its most rugged adventure motorcycle yet, the TRK 902 Xplorer. Designed and developed in Italy but manufactured in China, this machine aims to compete directly with established players like the KTM 890 Adventure, Husqvarna Norden 901, BMW F900GS, and Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE.
The Xplorer boasts a steel trellis frame and a muscular appearance, though its 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels raise questions about its true off-road capabilities. Powering the bike is a 904cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine, an evolution of the 754cc unit, delivering around 99 horsepower. This engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox, although the availability of a quickshifter remains unconfirmed.
Suspension duties are handled by fully adjustable 50mm USD forks up front and an adjustable mono-shock at the rear, offering 200mm of travel at both ends. Pirelli Scorpion Rally tires further enhance the off-road potential. A modern TFT dash with Bluetooth and navigation connectivity adds a touch of sophistication.
While the global launch of the TRK 902 Xplorer is expected next year, Indian enthusiasts will have to wait, as Benelli has no immediate plans to introduce this model in the Indian market.
