Aprilia has recently unveiled a teaser for its upcoming streetfighter, the Tuono 457. This exciting new model is set to be the naked version of the impressive RS 457 supersport bike.
The teaser image reveals several key details about the Tuono 457’s design. The most striking feature is the new LED headlight unit, featuring three individual headlights and a pair of distinctive LED DRLs. This design element is reminiscent of other Tuono models, creating a strong family resemblance.
Beneath the headlight, we can see aerodynamic winglets, similar to those found on the RS 457. These winglets not only enhance the bike’s aggressive appearance but also contribute to improved aerodynamic performance.
Moving to the side profile, the Tuono 457 adopts a semi-fairing design, a common approach for streetfighter motorcycles. This design choice offers a balance between wind protection and a sporty riding experience. The tail section, however, appears to be directly borrowed from the RS 457, complete with its distinctive winged LED taillight.
To accommodate a more upright riding position, the Tuono 457 features a single-piece handlebar, replacing the clip-on handlebars of the RS 457. The footpegs are also likely to be positioned further forward, providing a comfortable yet sporty riding stance.
Powering the Tuono 457 will be the same 457cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine found in the RS 457. While the engine’s peak power output may be slightly tuned to prioritize low and mid-range torque for street riding, it’s expected to deliver a thrilling performance.
The Tuono 457 will share many components with its supersport sibling, including the twin-spar aluminum frame, USD front fork, monoshock rear suspension, wheels, tires, and brakes.
In terms of technology, the Tuono 457 is expected to feature a color TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, as well as advanced rider aids like multiple ride modes, traction control, and ABS.
Aprilia is likely to officially unveil the Tuono 457 at the EICMA 2024 motorcycle show. Indian enthusiasts can also look forward to seeing the bike at the India Bike Week (IBW) 2024. The estimated price for the Tuono 457 in India is between Rs 3.90 lakh and Rs 4 lakh (ex-showroom).
