Maruti Suzuki has expanded its Swift lineup with the introduction of the new Blitz edition. This special edition is based on the three entry-level variants of the popular hatchback – LXi, VXi, and VXi (O), including the CNG and AMT options. Prices for the Swift Blitz start at Rs. 6.49 lakh and go up to Rs. 9.85 lakh (ex-showroom India).
The Blitz edition adds a range of accessories valued at Rs. 50,000, giving the entry-level variants a more premium and stylish look. These additions include a rear underbody spoiler, front fog lamps, illuminated door sills, a rear upper spoiler, door visors, and side body cladding.
Under the hood, the Swift is powered by a 1.2-liter, three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 82 hp and 112 Nm of torque. CNG variants offer slightly reduced power and torque of 70 hp and 102 Nm, respectively. The petrol variants are available with a standard 5-speed manual transmission, while the 5-speed AMT is an option on all but the base variant.
Maruti Suzuki has a history of launching special editions of its popular models to boost sales. Previous special editions include the WagonR Waltz Edition, Ignis Radiance Edition, Baleno Regal Edition, and Grand Vitara Dominion Edition.
Other car manufacturers have also introduced cosmetically updated special editions in recent months, such as the Hyundai Creta Knight Edition, Hyundai Venue Adventure Edition, Kia’s Gravity Editions, Honda Elevate Apex Edition, Skoda Slavia Monte Carlo and Sportline Editions, and Renault’s Night and Day Editions.
