Mahindra & Mahindra has announced a price increase for select variants of its popular sub-4 meter SUV, the XUV300. Effective from October 6, 2024, the price hike ranges from Rs 10,000 to Rs 30,000.
The MX1 and AX5 petrol variants will see the highest price increase of Rs 30,000. The MX2 Pro, MX3, and AX5L variants will be priced Rs 25,000 higher. The diesel versions of the MX2 Pro, MX3, and AX5 will experience a price hike of Rs 10,000.
It’s important to note that the MX2, MX3 Pro, AX7, and AX7L trims of the XUV300 will remain unaffected by this price increase.
With the price hike, the revised prices of the affected XUV300 variants are as follows:
- MX1 (Petrol): Rs 930,000
- AX5 (Petrol): Rs 930,000
- MX2 Pro (Petrol): Rs 925,000
- MX3 (Petrol): Rs 925,000
- AX5L (Petrol): Rs 925,000
- MX2 Pro (Diesel): Rs 910,000
- MX3 (Diesel): Rs 910,000
- AX5 (Diesel): Rs 910,000
Launched in April 2024, the XUV300 has already seen its first price increase. This hike is likely a response to rising input costs and inflationary pressures.
The XUV300 competes with other popular sub-4 meter SUVs such as the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Maruti Suzuki Brezza. Mahindra’s pricing strategy for the XUV300 plays a crucial role in its market success.
The XUV300 is available with a choice of three engines: a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol, a 1.2-liter TGDi turbo-petrol, and a 1.5-liter diesel. Both petrol engines can be paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission, while the diesel engine is offered with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT.
Mahindra is also working on an electric version of the XUV300, which is expected to be launched by the end of 2024 or early 2025.
