BMW Motorrad has introduced the CE 02 electric scooter in India at a price of ₹4,49,900 (ex-showroom). Developed in Munich, Germany, and manufactured in Hosur, India, in collaboration with TVS Motor Company, the CE 02 offers a futuristic and minimalist design.
The scooter features a flat and short seat, similar to a skateboard, and comes in a standard Cosmic Black with granite grey metallic matt color. The highline package adds anodised golden forks, Bluetooth connectivity, a smartphone holder, an additional flash riding mode, a 1.5 kW quick charger, and heated grips. All lights on the CE 02 are LED.
Equipped with a double-loop frame made of tubular steel, the CE 02 weighs 142 kilograms and has a seat height of 745 mm. Suspension duties are handled by hydraulically-damped telescopic forks at the front and a single-sided rear swingarm. Wide tires are mounted on cast light aluminum wheels.
The CE 02 is powered by a synchronous motor that delivers 11 kW of power and 55 Nm of torque. A 3.9 kWh battery pack offers a claimed range of 108 kilometers, and the scooter can reach a top speed of 95 kmph. It accelerates from 0 to 50 kmph in just 3 seconds. The CE 02 comes with a 900 W standard external charger and offers two ride modes: Flow and Surf. The Highline package includes the Flash mode, a more sporty option.
The scooter features a 3.5-inch TFT display, a USB-C charging socket, and a special power-saving mode. Safety features include BMW Motorrad’s anti-lock braking system (ABS), automatic stability control (ASC), and recuperation stability control (RSC).
Vikram Pawah, President and CEO of BMW Group India, emphasized the CE 02’s innovative design and electric drive, making it a dynamic partner for a new kind of mobility. He highlighted the scooter’s reduced design language and its potential to become an icon of the urban mobility scene.
