Electric G-Wagon Roars into India: Mercedes-Benz EQG Bookings Open

Mercedes-Benz Electric G-Wagon

Luxury car enthusiasts in India, rejoice! Mercedes-Benz has begun accepting pre-bookings for the much-anticipated EQG, the electric iteration of its iconic G-Wagon SUV. This marks a significant step towards a greener future for the brand and offers a thrilling combination of legendary off-road prowess with cutting-edge electric vehicle (EV) technology.

Classic G-Wagon Design, Electrified

The EQG retains the G-Wagon’s signature boxy silhouette, instantly recognizable on any road. However, subtle design cues distinguish it as a member of Mercedes-Benz’s EQ electric family. A gloss black front fascia replaces the traditional grille, while sleek circular LED headlamps and a redesigned bumper project a modern aesthetic. The 18-inch alloy wheels and a convenient rear storage compartment in place of a spare wheel further enhance the EQG’s unique look.

Luxurious Comfort and High-Tech Features

Step inside the EQG, and you’re greeted with a haven of comfort and cutting-edge technology. The latest MBUX infotainment system takes center stage, featuring a massive 12.3-inch touchscreen display. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay ensure seamless smartphone connectivity, while thoughtful amenities like temperature-controlled cup holders, wireless charging, and a Burmester 3D surround-sound system elevate every journey. Passengers in the rear can also enjoy their own entertainment options with dedicated entertainment units.

Uncompromising Performance and Range

The EQG isn’t just about luxury; it boasts impressive performance credentials. Built on a robust ladder-frame chassis, it houses a powerful 116 kWh battery pack that delivers a claimed maximum range of 386 km. This translates to ample driving distance for navigating cityscapes and embarking on exciting excursions. Powering the EQG are four electric motors churning out a combined output of a staggering 580 BHP and 1165 Nm of torque. This translates to exhilarating acceleration, with the EQG capable of sprinting from 0-98 km/h in a mere 4.4 seconds. Despite its weight, the EQG prioritizes efficiency and offers a top speed of 180 km/h.

Effortless Charging

The EQG integrates seamlessly with India’s growing fast-charging infrastructure. Its compatibility with up to 200 kW Level 3 DC chargers allows for a quick and convenient charging experience. In just 30 minutes, you can top up the battery from 10% to 80%, ensuring minimal downtime on your journeys.

The Mercedes-Benz EQG pre-bookings were open until June 15, 2024. With its arrival on Indian shores expected in the near future, the EQG is poised to redefine the luxury electric SUV segment. Stay tuned for further updates on the official launch date and pricing details.
