Gear up for nostalgia with a modern twist! The iconic Volkswagen microbus is making a comeback, this time as the fully electric ID.Buzz. While the wait is almost over with deliveries expected by year-end, those yearning for this electric revival should be prepared for a premium price tag.
Starting at $61,545 (around Rs. 51,65,226), the base ID.Buzz “Pro S” doesn’t disappoint when it comes to features. Standard equipment includes a massive 12.9-inch infotainment screen, a digital driver display for clear navigation, three-zone climate control for ultimate comfort, heated and ventilated power front seats with a massage function for those long drives, and stylish 20-inch wheels. However, color options for the Pro S are limited to white, black, or silver.
For those seeking even more bells and whistles, the Pro S Plus trim starts at $65,045 (around Rs. 54,58,967) for the rear-wheel-drive version and goes up to $69,545 (around Rs. 58,36,634) for all-wheel drive. This upgraded model boasts a wider range of features, including two-tone exterior paint schemes for a personalized touch, a powerful 700-watt sound system to pump up your rides, a power tailgate for effortless loading, a panoramic roof for an airy feel, and a heads-up display that keeps your eyes on the road.
The top-of-the-line 1st Edition lives up to its name as the first ID.Buzz available for purchase. Starting at a hefty $71,545 (around Rs. 60,04,486) with all-wheel drive, it combines all the features of the Pro S Plus with unique badging, paint options, and exclusive wheels for a truly special edition. A rear-wheel-drive version offers a slight price reduction of $4,500 (around Rs. 3,77,667), so you can choose based on your preference and budget.
New interior color options have also been revealed, adding a touch of personality to your ID.Buzz. “Copper” and “Moonlight” represent the lighter and darker shades, respectively, while a white and copper combination creates a stylish “Dune” theme.
While range estimates were slightly lower than anticipated, they still offer ample travel on a single charge. Rear-wheel-drive models are expected to achieve a range of 234 miles, while all-wheel-drive versions will see a minimal decrease to 231 miles.
