Ducati Monster Senna: For the Ultimate Motorcycle Enthusiast

Ducati Monster Senna

Ducati has unveiled a limited edition motorcycle, the Monster Senna, as a poignant homage to the legendary Formula 1 driver, Ayrton Senna. This exclusive motorcycle, restricted to a mere 341 units globally, boasts a striking livery and performance-oriented upgrades. The number 341 holds significant meaning, representing Senna’s three World Championships and 41 race victories.

A Design Masterpiece

While the Monster Senna shares its basic structure with the standard Ducati Monster, it’s the captivating livery that truly sets it apart. Inspired by Senna’s iconic racing helmet, the motorcycle features a bold combination of yellow, green, and blue accents. The forged aluminium wheels, adorned with red, blue, and yellow stripes, and the blue rider’s seat complement the design flawlessly.

To further emphasize its exclusivity, the Monster Senna proudly displays ‘Senna’ logos, a unique serial number, and an accompanying certificate of authenticity. Owners will also receive a special motorcycle cover.

Performance Enhancements

Ducati has shaved off 4kg from the standard Monster to create the Senna. This weight reduction is achieved through the incorporation of forged wheels and carbon fiber mudguards. The bike is further elevated with premium components, including a Termignoni exhaust, Ohlins suspension, and a steering damper.

A Lasting Bond

The collaboration between Ducati and Ayrton Senna runs deep. Senna was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and owned one of the first Monster 900 models. Ducati previously honored Senna with the 916 Senna in 1994 and the Panigale 1199 S Senna in 2014. The Monster Senna marks the 30th anniversary of Senna’s tragic passing.

Mechanicals and Availability

Mechanically, the Monster Senna remains unchanged from the standard model. It is powered by a 937cc L-twin engine producing 111bhp and 93Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox.

Ducati plans to allocate a limited number of Monster Senna motorcycles to India. Prospective buyers can reserve their units at the nearest Ducati dealership. Given the bike’s exclusivity and expected premium over the base price of $25,000 (approximately Rs 20.84 lakh), it’s undoubtedly a collector’s item for ardent Senna fans.
