Ather Energy’s Ather Rizta, the first electric scooter designed for families, has begun deliveries in key Indian cities. This exciting new model caters to various household needs, offering practicality, comfort, and performance.
Designed for Families
The Rizta boasts a comfortable ride with a lower seat height and a redesigned subframe compared to the 450X. This, along with ample under-seat storage, makes it ideal for everyday commutes and errands. Ather Energy CEO Tarun Mehta announced initial deliveries in Ahmedabad, Pune, Delhi, and several locations across Andhra Pradesh, with the promise of a wider rollout “very soon.”
Performance Packed
The Ather Rizta inherits the powerful PMS electric motor from the 450S, enabling quick acceleration (0-40 kmph in 3.7 seconds) and a top speed of 80 kmph. It caters to diverse range requirements with two battery options: a 2.9 kWh pack offering a 123 km range and a 3.7 kWh variant delivering a maximum range of 159 km on a single charge.
Tailored Variants
The Rizta comes in three variants: S (2.9 kWh), Z (2.9 kWh), and Z (3.7 kWh). The base S features a clear LCD instrument console with navigation. Z variants boast premium TFT screens with integrated Google Maps. The S offers a standard seat, while the Z trims provide a comfortable pillion backrest and a premium seat for enhanced rider and passenger experience.
Smart Charging
Charging times vary depending on the battery pack. The 2.9 kWh versions require around 5 hours and 45 minutes for a full charge. The 3.7 kWh variant boasts fast-charging capabilities, reaching 80% capacity in approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes.
Price and Availability
The Ather Rizta starts at an attractive ₹1.10 lakh for the S variant. An optional Pro Pack adds ₹13,000 for additional features. Z variants (2.9 kWh and 3.7 kWh) cost ₹1.25 lakh and ₹1.45 lakh respectively, with Pro Packs available for ₹15,000 and ₹20,000 extra.
