Maruti Suzuki is all set to unveil its much-anticipated electric SUV, the eVX, at the 2024 EICMA show in Milan on November 4th. This global model will also make its Indian debut at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo.
The Maruti eVX will be manufactured at Suzuki’s Gujarat facility, with production commencing in March 2025. The company aims to produce 1.4 lakh units in the first year, with half of them destined for export markets.
Once launched, the eVX will compete with the MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv EV, and the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV. While specific powertrain details are yet to be revealed, the eVX is expected to be equipped with a 60kWh battery pack and an electric motor. Both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations are likely to be offered, with an estimated range of around 500 kilometers on a full charge.
The eVX will be based on Toyota’s 40PL electric skateboard platform, also known as e-TNGA. This modular platform allows for flexibility in terms of body styles, battery capacities, and drivetrain options. The eVX, measuring around 4.3 meters in length, will retain the distinctive design elements of the concept version.
The concept model showcased a bold and futuristic design with a closed-off grille, upright nose, large headlamps, and a flat bonnet. The coupe-SUV-like roofline, black cladding, muscular shoulder lines, and C-pillar-mounted rear door handles contribute to its dynamic and modern appearance. The rear end features connected LED taillights, a small spoiler, and a prominent rear bumper.
