Mazda has unveiled further details about its upcoming electric flagship, the EZ-6. Initially teased at the Beijing Auto Show, the EZ-6 is now poised to hit the market with a range of impressive features and powertrain options.

A Sleek and Stylish Design

The EZ-6 boasts a sleek and aerodynamic design, characterized by a wide grille, LED headlights, and frameless doors. Other notable exterior features include a panoramic glass roof, 19-inch wheels, and a rear spoiler on higher-end models. The interior is equally impressive, with a minimalist design featuring a 10.1-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch infotainment system.

Electric and Range-Extended Options

Mazda offers the EZ-6 in both pure electric and range-extended variants. The electric version is powered by a rear-mounted motor producing 255 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. It can be equipped with either a 56.1 kWh or 68.8 kWh battery pack, providing a range of up to 373 miles.

The range-extended variant combines a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine with an electric motor. The engine charges the battery, while the electric motor drives the rear wheels, delivering 215 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. With two battery options (18.9 kWh or 28.4 kWh), the range-extended model offers an impressive overall range of over 808 miles.

Pricing and Availability

The Mazda EZ-6 is priced competitively, starting at ¥139,800 for the range-extended version and ¥159,800 for the electric model. While specific availability details have not been announced, Mazda is expected to launch the EZ-6 in key markets soon.
