Tata Motors, a leading Indian automaker, has announced substantial price reductions on its electric vehicle (EV) models as part of its ‘Festival of Cars’ campaign. This initiative aims to make EVs more accessible and affordable for Indian consumers.

The price cuts are especially significant for the Nexon.ev and Punch.ev models. The Nexon.ev is now available with discounts of up to ₹3 lakh, while the Punch.ev is offered at reduced prices of up to ₹1.20 lakh. In addition to price reductions, Tata Motors is also providing six months of free charging at over 5,500 Tata Power charging points across the country.

Here’s a breakdown of the discounted entry prices for popular Tata EVs:

Car/SUVNew Entry PricePrice Reduction (Variant-dependent)
Tiago.ev₹7.99 lakh₹40,000
Punch.ev₹9.99 lakh₹1.20 lakh
Nexon.ev₹12.50 lakh₹3 lakh

Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., stated that these price reductions are aimed at breaking the high acquisition cost barrier for EVs and making them more comparable to traditional petrol and diesel-powered vehicles.

The ‘Festival of Cars’ campaign also includes special offers on the Tiago.ev and Punch.ev models, further narrowing the price gap between EVs and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.

Tata Motors’ focus on reducing EV prices aligns with the government’s push for electric mobility in India. By making EVs more affordable, the company is contributing to the adoption of cleaner and greener transportation options.

The price cuts follow the recent launch of the Curvv.ev, which was positioned to compete directly with ICE vehicles in terms of pricing. Tata Motors is leveraging the benefits of localization and technology improvements to pass on savings to customers.

Overall, the ‘Festival of Cars’ campaign is a significant step towards making electric vehicles a more viable option for Indian consumers. With attractive price reductions and additional benefits, Tata Motors is aiming to accelerate the adoption of EVs in the country.
