Kia India has released the first teaser images of its upcoming EV9 electric SUV, offering a glimpse of what to expect ahead of its official price reveal on October 3. This premium electric vehicle will make its debut in India alongside the new-generation Carnival.

The EV9 will maintain the same silhouette as the global-spec model, arriving in India as a fully loaded CBU (Completely Built Unit) variant at launch. This will be Kia’s second electric offering after the EV6, which is expected to receive a facelift for the Indian market soon.

The 2024 Kia EV9 will be positioned as the brand’s flagship car in India, featuring a distinctive design with a blanked-off grille, 21-inch alloy wheels, and GT-spec front and rear bumpers. Inside, the EV9 is expected to offer advanced features like connected car technology, a Level 2 ADAS suite, a 360-degree camera, multi-zone climate control, a powered tailgate, a lounge function for the second row, electrically adjustable seats, and ventilated seats for the second row.

The India-spec EV9 is likely to be equipped with a 99.9kWh battery pack paired with two electric motors, providing all-wheel drive capability. This setup is expected to generate 379 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque, offering a claimed range of 445 kilometers on a single full charge. With a 350kWh charger, the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes.

The Kia EV9 is poised to make a significant impact in the Indian electric vehicle market, offering a combination of style, performance, and advanced technology. As the brand’s flagship model, the EV9 will showcase Kia’s commitment to electric mobility and its vision for the future of sustainable transportation.
