Audi has taken an interesting step in the Chinese market with the launch of its new sub-brand, AUDI. This move aims to cater to local preferences and tap into the growing demand for electric vehicles in the region.
The new AUDI brand will operate independently, offering a range of electric vehicles designed specifically for Chinese consumers. The first models are expected to arrive in mid-2025.
The AUDI E Concept:
To showcase the brand’s vision, Audi has unveiled the AUDI E concept. This sleek electric Sportback features a distinctive design language, with a focus on clean lines and futuristic elements. The concept boasts a spacious interior with a minimalist design and a large, curved display that integrates the instrument cluster and infotainment system.
Under the hood, the AUDI E concept is powered by a dual-motor electric powertrain that delivers impressive performance. The 100 kWh battery pack enables a range of up to 700 kilometers on a single charge.
A Bold Move:
While the launch of a new brand might seem unconventional, it’s a strategic move by Audi to strengthen its position in the Chinese market. By tailoring its products to local preferences and leveraging the expertise of its Chinese partner, SAIC, Audi aims to attract a new generation of Chinese consumers.
However, it remains to be seen whether the AUDI brand can differentiate itself from the main Audi brand and establish a strong identity in the competitive Chinese market.
